He began his career in 1998. He worked as a veterinarian in farrowing and rearing areas at the pig breeding farm of CJSC Kudryashovskoye, Novosibirsk Region, and then as a veterinary epizootologist. At the same time, he completed postgraduate studies at the Laboratory of Pig Diseases IEVSIDV under the guidance of Professor S.I. Prudnikov.
From 2002 to the present, he has been working in the companies LEK (Slovenia), Novartis Animal Health (Switzerland), Elanco (USA) as a technical consultant on veterinary issues. The goal is to help pig farms achieve/maintain a high animal health status and improve production performance.
Since 2011, Alexander Alexandrovich has been cooperating with the National Union of Pig Breeders as an independent expert in the field of veterinary medicine and is the executive secretary of the Veterinary Expert Advisory Council. In addition, he maintains constant contacts with representatives of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and the Rosselkhoznadzor of the Russian Federation.
Scope of A.A. Dukhovsky:
‒ advising pig enterprises on issues of veterinary medicine, biosafety, implementation of activities in accordance with existing regulatory and legal documentation;
‒ epizootological surveys of pig farms;
– assistance in organizing and setting up production experiments to assess the effectiveness, safety and other properties of drugs, vaccines and schemes for their use;
‒ development of strategic biosafety programs that reduce the risks of pathogenic microorganisms entering the enterprise from the outside.
Alexander Alexandrovich is the organizer and inspirer of the annual scientific-practical conference “Veterinary Medicine in Pig Breeding”, held in Novosibirsk, organizes lectures and training courses for veterinarians in various regions.
Author of a number of publications on epizootological diagnostics, issues of organizing and equipping pig-breeding enterprises, prevention and treatment of infectious diseases of pigs. He is a co-author of a method for the treatment and prevention of gastrointestinal infectious diseases of piglets in the conditions of industrial pig breeding (Patent No. 2272632).
